What would happen if...
...when someone asked you to do something and you weren't really, totally, quite exactly sure whether you wanted to do it or not, instead of saying, "Okay, yes," you said, "Um, no."
If I did that, I think hell would probably freeze over, because I have the disease to please and it's CRAZY. Trying to slowly but surely work my way out of it, but then my hubby volunteers me for stuff....arghh!
I said no today, although it meant losing out on getting more frequent flyer miles. Not sure if the no felt good but I liked put my personal life over my work life.
Then: high-level magazine editor in Manhattan, single, self-assured, financially secure.
Now: married, at-home mom in the ‘burbs with no title, no paycheck and a wicked case of identity loss. Looking to know myself again and find new ways to soar.
